Position description – DP & MYP Arts Teacher


The Codrington School, The International School of Barbados, seeks the services a qualified and experienced educator for the position of PYP/MYP/DP teacher of Visual Arts as of August 2025.


  • The successful applicant will hold at least a relevant initial degree; a teaching qualification and at least two years full time teaching experience as a qualified teacher.

  • The position will require the successful candidate to teach within the International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP, MYP and DP programmes. As such the successful candidate must be cognizant of, and his/her teaching philosophy should reflect that of, the IB.

  • Experience teaching in an International school setting is expected.

  • IB training/experience in one of the IB programme is highly desirable. The position will require the teaching of Visual Arts throughout the whole school.

  • a teaching qualification

  • a relevant initial degree

  • at least two years full time teaching experience


Desired qualifications/skills:


The position of DP/MYP Arts teacher will involve teaching within the DP and MYP programmes and it

is strongly desired that the successful candidate has:


  • Prior experience at teaching both in the DP and MYP

  • Has received DP and MYP focused professional development

  • Is cognizant of, and his/her teaching philosophy should reflect that of, the IB DP and MYP programmes.

  • Is knowledgeable and comfortable with regards to the the Extended Essay, CAS, Personal project, Learner

  • Profile and student centered learning.
