Lauremont School, formerly TMS, is inviting applications from motivated, inspiring individuals for the position of MYP and DP French Teacher. The position will commence in late August 2025. Internationally recognized since 1961, Lauremont is a leading independent school offering a unique combination of Montessori and International Baccalaureate Programmes in exceptional facilities on two campuses inRichmond Hill, Ontario. A Montessori approach to learning is expertly delivered at the Lower School from Toddler through Grade 6 before students move up to the Upper School, where the IB curriculum is delivered through both the MYP and DP programmes.


With just under 900 students ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years, Lauremont delivers an engaging, highly acclaimed educational experience focusing on knowing every child uniquely. Description of Position:


The successful candidate will work with students to help them reach their full potential

in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and Diploma

Programme.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Providing students an educational experience designed to inspire and challenge

    students to discover the best of who they are and to achieve their full potential

  • Ensuring a welcoming classroom environment in a manner that reflects the Lauremont School commitment to supporting students and their families, and the motto “I am Known”

  • Participating actively in faculty and department meetings to plan, review and update the written curriculum

  • Contribute to the life of the school by participating in co-curricular activities such as clubs, sports teams, field trips, overnight trips, social activities and sporting events.

  • Ensuring the written, taught and assessed curriculum is in line with IB and Ministry of Education curriculum ensuring differentiation

  • Establishing good relationships with teachers, staff and parents across the school community

  • Keep up to date with developments in their subject area, new resources and methods.


Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education

  • Ontario College of Teachers Certification with intermediate/senior school qualifications

  • University degree with specialization in French

  • Fluently bilingual

  • Over 3 years teaching experience teaching French

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)/Diploma Programme (DP) experience is considered a strong asset

  • Ability to instruct in a laptop environment

  • Independent School experience is an asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A current Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Current First Aid CPR, and AED
