Brief Description of Position:
Share in the overall responsibility for the academic progress, personal
development, health and safety, and well-being of students
Provide a differentiated program of instruction that incorporates high
expectations for all learners
Plan for, assess, and report student learning and progress within the IB MYP
and DP framework
Provide timely communication to parents
Contribute to the co-curricular life of school
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning & Delivery:
Develop and implement an inquiry-based curriculum in line with IB MYP standards for Individuals and Societies, including geography, history, economics, and civics.
Create lesson plans emphasizing interdisciplinary connections, global contexts, and real-world relevance.
Incorporate diverse teaching strategies that meet the needs of all learners, including English language learners (ELLs) and students with different learning styles and abilities.
Assessment & Reporting:
Design formative and summative assessments based on IB MYP assessment criteria, focusing on evaluating students' conceptual understanding and inquiry skills.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding students' academic and social development.
Classroom Environment & Student Engagement:
Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and inquiry.
Engage students in active learning through various instructional methods such as discussions, debates, project-based learning, and research-based assignments.
