Purpose of the Position:

We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and experienced IB Math and Chemistry Teacher to join our growing high school team. This unique role is ideal for educators eager to inspire students in both subjects while helping build an exceptional IB program. You will have the opportunity to develop curriculum, collaborate with a dedicated team, and prepare students for success in the IB Diploma Programme and beyond. We are a small school - so ideally we will combine these two subjects together. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Curriculum Delivery:


  • Teach IB Mathematics (SL) and Chemistry (SL/HL), delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB standards.

  • Support students in achieving success in internal assessments and external IB exams.

  • Teach integrated Math and Science courses for 9th and 10th grades as part of our interdisciplinary approach


Curriculum Development:


  • Develop and refine unit plans, resources, and assessments for Math and Chemistry courses, ensuring alignment with the IB framework.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design engaging projects and cross-curricular experiences.


Differentiated Instruction:


  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student learning needs and abilities.

  • Provide individualized support to ensure all students develop confidence and competency in Math and Science.


Student Support and Mentorship:


  • Act as a mentor to students, guiding their academic progress and supporting post-secondary aspirations.

  • Offer one-on-one assistance and additional resources as needed to foster student success.


Collaboration and Communication:


  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure cohesive, interdisciplinary learning experiences.

  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with parents about student progress, challenges, and achievements.


Assessment and Reporting:


  • Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor student understanding and growth.

  • Maintain accurate records and provide meaningful, timely feedback to students.


Professional Engagement and Community Participation:


  • Actively contribute to the school community by participating in events, staff meetings, and school initiatives.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth, including participation in IB professional development workshops.



Qualifications:


  • Teaching certification or relevant credentials in Mathematics and/or Chemistry (Master’s degree preferred).

  • IB teaching experience is required, with a proven record of success in delivering IB DP Math or  Chemistry (SL/HL).

  • Strong understanding of the IB framework, including inquiry-based and student-centered learning methodologies.

  • Experience teaching in international or multilingual settings, with a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents to create a positive learning environment.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • A passion for fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry in students.
