Description of Position:
We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic MYP Humanities and social studies to join our dedicated faculty for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the subject, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to fostering the holistic development of our students.
Key responsibilities
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
Develop and implement the MYP humanities and social studies curriculum, ensuring alignment with IB standards and objectives.
Teaching and Learning:
Teach and engage students in integrated humanities subjects, including economics, geography, history, and other social sciences.
Enhance conceptual learning and provide opportunities for students to develop skills in analysis, critical thinking, and research.
Experiential Learning:
Organize and facilitate experiential learning opportunities, such as field trips and project-based learning activities, to deepen students' understanding of humanities and social studies concepts.
Assessment and Feedback:
Create and maintain assessment strategies that meet MYP objectives, providing timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest educational practices and IB requirements.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student learning and well-being..
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Teaching certification/license (MYP certification is an asset).
Prior experience teaching mathematics at the middle years level (MYP experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of the MYP framework and inquiry-based teaching practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Fluency in English (additional languages such as French or Arabic is a plus).
